Who runs this

DayXGuitar is run by one person — Niall — in the UK. If you want anything here explained or deleted, email niall@dayxguitar.com and you'll get a reply from an actual human.

What we store

If you don’t have an account, the only thing we might hold is an email address you typed into the signup box yourself — kept with the reason you gave it and the page you were on when you did. Nothing else, and nothing gathered without you typing it.

We only ever email that address if you click the confirmation link we send you, and every email after that has a one-click unsubscribe. If you never click, we never write again.

If you do have an account, we store what you gave us — your email address, your display name, anything you post, and your check-ins and practice videos. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.

Cookies

Two kinds. Essential ones keep you logged in and keep forms secure — the site can't work without them. Analytics ones (Google Analytics) tell us which days get watched and whether anyone finds the forum. Those only run if you say yes, and you can say no with no loss of function.

What analytics does and doesn't see

It sees pages, actions and rough location. It does not receive your email, your name, the contents of anything you post, your practice videos, or your payment details — that's enforced in our code, not just promised.

Your data, your call

Ask and you can have a copy of everything we hold on you, or corrections to it. You don’t have to ask to leave, though: you can delete your own account from your settings, or from inside the app.

Deletion means deletion. Your account, your check-ins, your Challenge progress and your uploaded practice video all go — the video is removed from storage, not just hidden — and any membership is cancelled so you’re not billed again.

One honest exception. Anything you wrote in a conversation with other people — forum threads, replies, day comments — stays where it is, with [deleted member] in place of your name. It is no longer linked to you, to your profile or to your email. What we remove is the connection between you and the words, which is what leaving should mean; taking the words out as well would tear the middle out of conversations other people are still reading, and their half is theirs.

Who else is involved

Microsoft Azure (hosting, in the UK), Cloudflare R2 (your practice videos), Stripe (payments), Google Analytics (usage), and Azure Communication Services (email). Each sees only what it needs to do its job.
